Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28th 1952) is an American film, stage, and television actress. McDonnell was nominated for an Academy Award for her roles in Dances with Wolves as Stands With A Finger and Passion Fish as May-Alice Culhane. McDonnell is best known for her performances as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. McDonnell was a character in Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's television series The Closer. She also appeared on Major Crimes, the spin-off series that airs on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
