Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is popular under her stage name and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. Gugu became famous due to her appearance in the BBC Science Fiction TV show Doctor Who. Gugu was a huge success in the series as Tish Jones. Tish is the sister of Martha Jones. Gugu's viewers loved her openness and was well on the way to a long-lasting acting career. This reality TV show was on from 2002 to 2005. The handler began to appear on other TV shows, such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler was given her first major break when she hosted her E! Show in 2006. The show was called Chelsea Handler. It lasted two seasons. Handler continued her stand-up career by doing a show in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour, which was a tour in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all aired her stand-up shows. Her name was chosen to host the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. With this, she became the first woman to host VMA's after Roseanne Barr.
